Vaadas HaRabbonim Reiterates Need to Avoid Government Intervention
in Educational Affairs

Vaadas HaRabbonim LeInyonei Chinuch, which is backed by gedolei
Yisroel shlita, held a meeting this week in Jerusalem at the home
of HaRav Boruch Shmuel HaKohen Deutsch, one of the roshei yeshiva of
Yeshivas Kol Torah and a member of Vaadas HaRabbonim.
At the meeting the committee reiterated unequivocally and
uncompromisingly that "all branches of the chareidi education system
must be completely independent and reject all attempts to interfere
with their independence."
The committee members discussed repeated attempts by various
government officials to intervene and alter the sanctity and
uniqueness of chareidi education in all its forms. The rabbonim cited
the clear directive by maroon verabbonon shlita to school
principals and other educational institution heads to resist any
attempt by outsider figures to interfere and impose their will on
affairs that take place inside chareidi schools and other
institutions.
