Gedolei Issue Ban Against "Chareidi" Websites

Torah-true Jewry in Eretz Yisroel and abroad is responding positively to a call by gedolei Yisroel to uproot Internet websites that claim to be "chareidi" yet breach the walls of kedushoh and tohoroh protecting Beis Yisroel against grave Torah prohibitions.

The focus of the campaign of the Gedolim against chareidi Internet sites is directed at the forums and blogs that are conducted on an anonymous basis for fun and profit.


Daas Torah and Warning Against the Danger of "Chareidi" Internet

The dangers associated with the Internet are well known. "All who go to it do not return" [Mishlei 2:19] and many Jews have already fallen into its snare. The Internet has been forbidden for use in any home (as publicized in letters by gedolei Yisroel in 5759 and 5760). Even in workplaces outside the home where Internet use is a necessity this prohibition applies to Internet that is not completely filtered in accordance with halacha against any forbidden text or image and against the abovementioned "chareidi" networks.

Kiryat Malachi Develops Novel Concept to Keep Chareidi Apartment Buyers Away

The Kiryat Malachi Municipality found a "solution" to enable it to form a neighborhood open only to secular residents. An enormous construction project will be made up of mostly high- rise buildings in light of the recent ruling by leading halachic authorities, including Maran HaRav Eliashiv shlita, not to use elevators on Shabbos even if they operate automatically.

New Security Arrangement at Har Hazeisim

A special security arrangement is now in place at Har Hazeisim in Jerusalem to prevent acts of vandalism liable to dishonor the dead, which have been taking place for years and with increasing frequency in recent months, Rachmono litzlan. The arrangement was implemented based on orders from the Prime Minister's Office and a decision will be presented to the government for approval on Sunday.
