Agudas Yisroel Holds Yarchei Kallah in Jerusalem

Agudas Yisroel of America is holding its annual Yarchei Kallah in Jerusalem this week, drawing some 250 participants for the four-day event.
The year's program focuses on a selected sugya, allowing the participants to spend a week engrossed in full-time, yeshiva-style gemora study.
"Boruch Hashem the uniqueness of this event has won renown quickly, and this year air fares are lower than usual," said Rabbi Avrohom Nissan Perl, director of Torah projects at Agudas Yisroel of America. "This has created large demand to take part in this study program, which has posted a record number of participants."
On Tuesday night, following a full day of Torah study starting at 6:30 a.m., HaRav Nosson Tzvi Finkel, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Mir-Jerusalem, gave a special talk, saying, "When Jews come from faraway places to learn Torah together, the achsaniyoh is Torah."
He was followed by HaRav Aharon Leib Shteinman, who told the participants, "In light of today's difficult economic situation, what is needed is emunoh and bitochon in Hashem, who is the leader of the world."
The list of rabbonim giving shiurim over the course of the four-day program included HaRav Binyomin Finkel and HaRav Nissan Kaplan, both ramim at Yeshivas Mir-Jerusalem, HaRav Moshe Hillel Hirsch, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Slobodka in Bnei Brak, HaRav Menasheh Reisman of Belz, HaRav Yitzchok Zilberstein, rosh kollel of Kollel Beis Dovid in Holon and the rov of Ramat Elchonon in Bnei Brak, HaRav Boruch Dov Povarsky, one of the roshei yeshiva of Yeshivas Ponovezh, HaRav Avrohom Yaakov Cohen, a dayan at the beis din of HaRav Nissim Karelitz, HaRav Yitzchok Scheiner, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Kamenitz, and HaRav Leib Mintzberg, the rov of Kahal Adas Yerushalayim (Masmidim).
