Transportation Funding for Sderot Students Resumed

By L.S. Wasserman

Following an Education Ministry directive authorizing busing inside the city of Sderot and to outlying areas, 100 children resumed their bus commute to talmudei Torah and schools outside the city, bringing to an end an affair that caused Sderot's Torah-true community considerable distress.

Last week Mayor David Buskila unexpectedly issued a directive to stop funding transportation that enabled chareidi students to study outside the city, while city hall continued to fully fund transportation for secular students who wanted to study elsewhere.
