Following last year's success in enrolling dozens of young men at yeshivas at the conclusion of Acheinu's Summer Vacation Yeshiva program, the organization is now continuing the outreach project first launched last summer.
Acheinu opened this year's summer yeshiva learning program last week in Bnei Brak at a gala event attended by more than 100 students in the process of becoming more observant. Designed for secular high school students on their summer break, the new program took root last year and was boosted by the setup of a special location to accommodate this summer's program.
The sight of so many young men sitting and learning sugyos as the light of Torah brought them back to their Jewish roots was deeply moving. Participants study three times a week, with two sedorim each time to give them a taste of yeshiva life. During the first learning session they study be'iyun with avreichim followed by a shiur given by guest roshei yeshivos.
In the afternoon they take part in a mussar talk and a halochoh shiur, followed by bekiyus learning. The participants are also taken to the homes of local gedolei Yisroel to receive brochos.
