Firebomb Attack Torches Large Kosher Meat Center in
Paris
By Arnon Yaffeh, Paris
Footage from onsite security cameras show men with kaffiyeh-
covered faces hurling firebombs into a kosher meat center run
by the Consistoire of Paris in the suburb of Montreuil on
Thursday night, 27 Teves. The wholesale warehouse, which
serves as a cold storage facility and distribution center for
Andre Kreif stores, went up in flames and suffered heavy
damage.
"Jews' safety cannot be abandoned like this," said Paris
Chief Rabbi David Mashash, standing outside the large,
scorched facility. Despite all the evidence, the police
commander at the scene would not admit the attack was based
on antisemitic motives. "The police are investigating," was
all he would say. But eyewitnesses and videos from
surveillance cameras left no doubt it was yet another
antisemitic attack in reaction to the war in Gaza.
According to eyewitnesses, the arsonists threw several
Molotov cocktails at two sides of the building
simultaneously. Along the same street are stores selling
kosher food products. Andre Kreif said the facility employs
80 Arabs from the suburbs and whoever attacked it caused them
to lose their jobs and their respective families' source of
income. Police arrested several Arabs for throwing firebombs
at shuls in Toulouse and Saint Denis.
The arson attack was not reported in the media. The
newspapers are filled with Palestinian testimonials and
accusations of Israeli "war crimes" in Gaza. An Egyptian
doctor was interviewed by Le Journal du Dimanche, standing
beside patients supposedly wounded "by a secret weapon in the
hands of Israel." He said the secret weapon gouged out the
victims' eyes, burns the skin and pulls apart bones. "White
phosphorus bombs draw out the most vulnerable organs," Abu
Mohammed, the uncle of a 14-year-old patient lying in a Cairo
hospital, told the newspaper. The press is filled with
similar lies.
