A shaver bearing the official hechsher of the Beis Din
for Halachic Shavers headed by HaRav Mordechai Gross and
recently launched on the market following four years of
research and development is now in high demand.
After receiving the hechsher from the beis din,
executives from Y. Rubin Shavers Ltd., including CEO Yitzchak
Katribs, paid a visit to Maran HaRav Eliashiv shlita
at his home, where they received blessings for the welcome
initiative aimed at preventing issurei deOraisa
associated with standard shavers.
The company spent four years on development before the beard
trimmer was able to meet the stringent halachic demands set.
All of the trimmers underwent tests on non-Jews. Other
devices were found to cut hair in a prohibited manner on
certain parts of the face.
Following concerted efforts under the guidance of talmidei
chachomim appointed by the beis din and in cooperation
with a senior engineer and Yitzchak Katribs, the CEO and an
expert on shaving devices, the company developed a trimmer
with a special blade that undergoes improvement by an expert.
The device was carefully checked and after meeting all of the
strict halachic requirements was approved by the beis
din.
The top device is the D4D trimmer, manufactured by US company
Andis, the leader in the production of professional shaving
devices, which are sold at authorized dealers.
The company is now working on a more advanced device, but
since it is slated to be marketed in cooperation with one of
the leading shaver companies the preparation period is
longer, meaning the new trimmer will not be launched for at
least a year.
