Rare Books Stolen from R' Yosef Caro Shul in Tzfas
Intruders broke into the R' Yosef Caro Synagogue in Tzfas and
stole dozens of old sifrei kodesh, some of which were
rare and worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
A large police force was dispatched to the scene of the crime
and launched an investigation. With the help of security
cameras they started working to identify suspects. One of the
suspects was arrested and held for questioning. The
gabbai said the primary concern is that the sifrei
kodesh might be smuggled out of the country and sold to
collectors abroad.
