Yahrtzeit at Gravesite of Ohel Moshe in Hungary

by Yated Ne'eman Staff

A large gathering was held at the Ohel Moshe shul in Makava, Hungary to mark the 64th yahrtzeit of the Ohel Moshe, the Admor of Makava and the surrounding area, and one of the great rabbonim in Hungary during the previous generation.

The tefilloh was held in the cemetery on the day of the yahrtzeit, followed by a special uplifting Shabbos in the new guest facility built by the International Organization of Makava to accommodate visitors who come to pray at the gravesites. The building features a mikveh, a large event hall, study rooms, a Torah library, a well-furnished kitchen and dozens of rooms for lodging.

The Shabbos tefillos were held at the old beis medrash, which was renovated at the initiative of R' Dovid Margolis, chairman of the International Organization of Makava headed by the gavad of Makava, along with his brothers, who serve as rabbonim. They delivered divrei Torah and divrei chizuk in memory of their grandfather, the Ohel Moshe zy"o.

Every year many visitors arrive at the gravesite to pray. "Those who come to my grave and weep with free-flowing tears that they want to do teshuvoh will certainly receive my help," reads his will, which is printed in his book Ohel Moshe. "And all those who carry out any act to rectify my soul, I promise they won't leave This World without doing teshuvoh shleimoh."
