Two Brothers Spared from Grad Missile Following Outreach
Seminar
By Yechiel Sever
Idan and Golan, two brothers who decided to undertake a
commitment to Torah and mitzvas following an Arachim seminar,
couldn't remain indifferent after the miracle that happened
to them recently. They emerged unscathed when a Grad missile
fell at the entrance to their home. "Torah saves and
protects," said the astonished brothers. Golan and Idan
participated in an Arachim seminar for singles three years
ago and since then have been constantly growing in the
observance.
The older of the two, Golan, who is currently engaged, made a
commitment during the seminar to keep set times for Torah
study, even saying he would like to start learning Torah at a
yeshiva. He expressed his gratitude toward Arachim by giving
a monthly donation through a standing bank order.
Idan, who followed in his older brother's footsteps by
participating in a seminar weekend, recently registered up
for a second seminar, bringing along three friends to get a
taste of Torah with him.
Two days after the seminar the two brothers stood with their
mother at the entrance to their home in Ashkelon. Golan
parted from them, got into his car and drove off. Before he
was out of sight the warning system blared. Idan and his
mother, who didn't have time to flee, couldn't believe their
eyes: a Grad missile landed on the exact spot where Golan's
car had been parked seconds earlier. The windows of their
home were shattered and a man standing nearby suffered light
head injuries, yet Idan and his mother, who had remained in
place, checked themselves over and over — but didn't
find a scratch.
The Arachim workers they called immediately after the
incident were amazed, attributing the miracle to the recent
commitment to Torah.
