Education Conference at Nir Etzion Set to Begin

Organizers are busy making final arrangements for the
Education Conference scheduled to take place at Nir Etzion
starting on Tuesday Rosh Chodesh Shevat. Registration is at a
peak for the three-day event, which is expect to draw
rabbonim, public figures, principals, education directors,
inspectors and top educators. A special steering committee
made up of leading educators is finalizing the conference
schedule, which includes extended discussions, sessions and
panels.
For the first time the Education Conference is being held for
educational institutions and organizations around the
country, sponsored by the Jerusalem Municipality's Department
for Chareidi Education. Backed by gedolei Yisroel
shlita, the conference will address various issues in
depth and is intended to provide educators with a range of
professional tools while preserving the pure form of Jewish
education handed down through the generations. Gedolei
Yisroel are expected to speak at the opening session.
Led by Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Rabbi Uri Maklev, who is in
charge of chareidi education in Jerusalem, conference heads
made a round of visits to gedolei Yisroel, including
Maran HaRav Eliashiv, HaRav Shteinman and HaRav Lefkowitz
shlita.
