Avreich Assaulted at Paris Train Station as Elections Heat Up

Rabbi Eli Dehan was beaten at the Gard du Nord, a train station in northern Paris, by an Arab youth who assaulted him verbally, kicked him and knocked him to the ground before police intervened. The attack was apparently related to tensions and Muslim incitement on the eve of last Sunday's elections in France.


Latin American Jewish Congress Shows Solidarity for Venezuela Jews

The plight of Venezuelan Jews is the worst in the world besides that of Iranian Jews, World Jewish Congress Secretary- General Stephen Herbits told the JTA. "Outside the Arab world, this is the most troubled place in the world for Jews," Herbits said while visiting Caracas for a meeting of the Latin American Jewish Congress. "The situation is not yet desperate here, but they certainly have to be very alert."
