Miriam Dunner o"h

Rebbetzin Miriam Dunner o"h, the wife of CER Executive Director Rav Abba Dunner and the daughter-in-law of London senior Rov HaRav Yosef Tzvi Dunner, passed away unexpectedly.

Miriam Dunner was born into the Cohen family of Amsterdam. She was known for her many acts of tzedokoh and chessed, sagely advice, a noble spirit and fine character traits.

She stood by her husband, a prominent rov and leader of European Jewry, in his numerous activities to spread Torah and fortify the Jewish religion in Europe, including battles against the Reform Movement and attempts to ban shechitoh, as well as his work to establish mikvehs, talmudei Torah and Torah-based kehillos in the former Soviet Union.

On motzei Shabbos Parshas Vayeiro, 21 Marcheshvan, she returned her soul to her Maker at the age of 68. At the levaya on Sunday she was eulogized by her brother-in- law HaRav Aharon Dovid Dunner, a dayan and moreh tzedek in London and rov of the Adas Yisroel Synagogue of Tottenham- London. The mittoh was accompanied by a large crowd led by her father-in-law, HaRav Yosef Tzvi Dunner.

Rebbetzin Miriam Dunner o"h is survived by her sons, HaRav Yitzchok, a distinguished member of the Golders Green kehilloh, HaRav Ben Tzion, a prominent supporter of Torah and tzedokoh organizations, HaRav Zeev, a ram at Yeshivas Aish HaTorah, HaRav Pinchos, rov of a London kehilloh, her son-in-law HaRav Alexander Lebel and grandchildren following in her upright path.
