Chanichei Hayeshivos Establishes Beis Din

Members of the Chanichei Hayeshivos beis din, HaRav
Yeshayohu Frankel, rov of the Kerem Yisroel-Kiryat Hertzog
area and rosh kollel of Kollel Mercaz HaTorah in Elad,
HaRav Avrohom Yehoshua Horovitz, who serves as a dayan and
moreh tzedek for Belz Chassidim in Ramat Elchonon, and
HaRav Mordechai Gross, who heads the beis din, agreed
to a request by farmers at Yesodot to visit the vineyards and
orchards in Yesodot. The tour was joined by the moro
de'asra of Yesodot, HaRav Ben Tzion Klein.
The intention of the visit was to allow the rabbonim to
closely survey Shmittah preparations and answer halachic
questions applying to the vineyards, whose produce will be
given to the Otzar Beis Din run by Chanichei
Hayeshivos.
After the tour the beis din members examined the
yields that will be distributed through the otzar beis
din at stations to be set up during the Shmittah year.
The beis din held a meeting during which the farmers
received initial instructions related to the vineyards that
will be associated with the otzar beis din. These
instructions were subject to the stringencies of the Chazon
Ish and the directives of Maran HaRav Eliashiv
shlita.
