Heroes

Famous storytellers create heroes everyone can appreciate and admire. Then they place them into amazing, shocking, dangerous scenes — where it seems certain that they will suffer broken limbs, broken hearts, and worse. Finally — once the tension becomes unbearable — they save them from these situations.

The hero kills the dragon, overcomes the obstacles, and exits as a winner. He walks into the sunset, brushing the dust off his sleeves, or simply rinsing his hands with a little water. At times, he may have his clothes ripped, his property destroyed — but never, never, is his spirit or good humor broken.

This, then, is the formula for greatness — to be personalities, solid as rocks, standing firm as the waves that beat around them. Now, while this is easier said then done — while we all fall, many times over — we can strive for this goal.

We need to try to be happy, no matter what. Then we will be heroes.
