The directors of Dirshu in the US and Canada are scheduled to
arrive in Israel to take part in the celebrations to mark the
completion of the Shas as part of a the organization's
200-man delegation comprised of maggidei shiurim in
the US and avreichim who participate in its Daf Yomi
project as well as friends, donors and public figures.
The delegation will participate in the central events to be
held in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and Dirshu organizers are
planning a special event in honor of the delegation, and
especially the Dirshu testing program participants in Israel,
Europe and the US who have excelled on the Shas exams as well
as the family members of the avreichim, who earn an
equal share of the merit of their learning.
Prominent roshei yeshivos have already promised to attend the
event to be held in Jerusalem in both Hebrew and English as a
show of encouragement and esteem for the avreichim, as
well as yeshiva students who take exams on the
masechtos studied at the yeshivas with the backing of
the respective roshei yeshivos.
In light of increasing demand as the new Daf Yomi cycle
approaches, Dirshu's international project for the promotion
of the Daf Yomi among avreichim has decided to expand
its testing program and participation in stipend lotteries.
Due to the large number of Torah scholars joining the program
two different tracks are being offered: full monthly stipends
or a lottery for larger stipends. Participants in both tracks
can participate in the tests for the grand stipends of
$15,000 at the end of four months after successfully passing
a test on 120 dapim.
