Important Public Announcement
Based on the instructions of maronon verabonon shlita
we have been working besiyato diShmayo with cellular
communications operators to have them develop and market
cellular phones free of stumbling blocks. Many in the
community of yirei Hashem made haste to carry out the
call by chachomim shlita, and switched to the kosher
phones we authorized.
We are now giving notice that following much toil besiyato
diShmayo the range of kosher models has been expanded
with the inclusion of additional companies that made legally-
binding agreements to develop and market cell phones
according to our demands, i.e. designed only for
conversation, and even expressed their willingness to ease
the financial burden on the public in order to allow them to
trade in their phones for approved models at a minimal cost
to allow every member of the chareidi public to carry out the
instructions of our rabbonim shlita and to select the
cell phone suited to his needs. (This does not extend to
those segments of the chareidi public, such as yeshiva and
seminary students, who were instructed not to use cell phones
at all—even authorized cell phones.)
1. Now whoever has a need for a cell phone should use
only devices bearing the committee's stamp of approval. The
following is a list of approved models:

Cellcom 052-76 . . . Nokia 8260 6120
Note: Only phones with the prefixes listed above are
approved models.
2. Only the models listed above were checked by
experts and approved. Other models currently held by the
public and sold by the cellular companies were not checked or
approved.
3. The approved phones will only be sold at specially
designated points of sale whose locations will be announced
soon.
4. Anyone who knows of a phone number that should be
blocked or any hitches or mishaps is requested to leave a
