Special Coordinator for Egged's Mehadrin Lines in Jerusalem Appointed
by Betzalel Kahn

Yossi Chachkes, director of Egged's Jerusalem bureau, announced the appointment of Ram Oren as coordinator- supervisor of the mehadrin and standard bus lines in the city's chareidi neighborhoods.

Chachkes says the new appointee, who is a shomer mitzvos, is certain to improve the level of service that chareidi public transportation users receive in Jerusalem and will help promote the mehadrin lines. "Ram Oren is very familiar with the working arrangements at Egged and is committed to the chareidi sector in which he lives. Without a doubt this will help him significantly in designing the service for chareidi passengers," said Chachkes.

Before his appointment, Oren, who has extensive experience in a variety of positions at Egged, met with activists working to promote the mehadrin bus lines and received brochos from rabbonim. He hoped he will be able to serve as a liaison between the chareidi sector's transportation needs and Egged Jerusalem operations. "Our sector makes much use of public transportation and deserves maximum, efficient service," Oren said. "We will do everything we can to meet the high expectations, im yirtzeh Hashem."

Members of Egged Jerusalem's Advisory Council for Matters of Public Transportation in the Chareidi Sector welcomed the new appointee. "The appointment of a supervisor with extensive authority who is aware of the chareidi public's needs and is familiar with Egged's working regulations is an expression of Egged's resolute decision to provide the chareidi passenger with optimal, efficient service," said one committee member.
