It has come to our attention plans to develop the area of the
holy gravesite of Rav Shimon Bar Yochai and his son Rav
Elozor have been prepared, plans unbefitting the holiness of
the site since, in addition to several other serious
stumbling blocks, they would transform the road and the area
of RaSHBI's gravesite in a manner inappropriate to this holy
site which all of Am Yisroel holds dear.
Therefore we are hereby making known our opinion, daas
Torah, that these changes must not be made, and anyone
who makes changes will not gain. We extend our support to the
Rabbinical Committee of Meron in its efforts to remain
vigilant and act in all matters affecting this holy site.
RaSHBI's merit will protect all those who heed our words and
help in this matter and they will be granted salvation for
all milei demeitav.
