American Rov to Visit England
by Yated Ne'eman Staff

Rabbi Eliyohu Yehoshua Geldzahler, son-in-law of Rabbi Eliyahu Eliezer Dessler, has kindly accepted an invitation from the Gateshead Kollel Harabbonim to be in Gateshead for the 50th yahrtzeit of his revered late father-in-law. He will address a special kenes in honor of Rabbi Dessler at the Kollel on 25th Teves. He will also present shiurim and talks at other Gateshead mosdos.

It is just 63 years since Rabbi Dessler first set foot in Gateshead, then a very small kehilla, to establish the Kollel Harabbonim. Since those early days, the Kollel has provided Klal Yisroel with scores of prominent rabbonim, dayanim, roshei yeshiva and leading teaching personnel, gracing communities and Torah mosdos in all parts of the world. For the development of Gateshead as a unique Torah metropolis, Rabbi Dessler's influence has been monumental.

Rabbi Geldzahler is a charismatic speaker who is rosh yeshiva of Ohr Israel Yeshiva in the Queens Borough of New York, where he has a considerable following. He is author of a multi-volume comprehensive publication on Seder Kodshim, widely acclaimed by all studying this intricate subject. His visit promises to be a source of inspiration and excitement. His host in Gateshead will be Rabbi Chaim Kaufman.
