As part of a campaign to expand and unite the majority of
Hatzoloh branches under a national organization,
representatives visited the homes of gedolei Yisroel
to receive their blessings.
A special delegation headed by R' Dovid Greenwald, chairman
of Hatzoloh of Eretz Hakodesh, and accompanied by HaRav
Shmuel Eliezer Stern, rov and moreh tzedek at HaRav
Shmuel Halevi Wosner's beis din, presented maranan
verabonon with a booklet called Hilchos Hatzoloh
based on material studied in a series of shiurim for
Hatzoloh volunteers called Chovesh Ne'eman Behalochoh
given by HaRav Chaim Yehuda Cohen, one of the organization's
rabbonim, and with the encouragement of the nosi,
HaRav Moshe Halberstam.
Gedolei Yisroel were given an overview of the
organization's activities and blessed them for success in
expanding the organization, which sanctifies the Name of
Heaven by saving lives in Eretz Hakodesh every day.
Recently most of the Hatzoloh branches in Eretz Yisroel were
united under Hatzoloh of Jerusalem, run by R' Greenwald, to
form Hatzoloh of Eretz Hakodesh, which will continue to
operate under the guidance of Vaadas HaRabbonim.
According to Rav Greenwald and Rav Mordechai Barzilai,
chairman of Hatzoloh volunteers nationwide, the decision to
unite the majority of organizations into a single national
body is an important building block in improving regular life-
saving activities in every part of Eretz Yisroel, primarily
because of the uniformity and order obtained by subjecting
operations to Magen David Adom guidelines. Magen David Adom
heads praised the merger of Hatzoloh branches across the
country.
The move to unite Hatzoloh branches from Jerusalem to the
Negev and north to the Sharon and Galilee regions will make
Hatzoloh the largest chareidi volunteer organization in Eretz
Yisroel, with 1,000 observant paramedics on call and
certified by Magen David Adom.
Hatzoloh branches in Bnei Brak and Ramat-Gan will continue to
operate independently.
