Rabbonim Urge Public to Avoid Visiting Sites Open on Shabbos
by Betzalel Kahn

Vaadas HaRabbonim Lemaan Kedushas HaShabbos, under the auspices of gedolei Yisroel, is cautioning those setting out on trips and excursions not to visit sites and attractions that desecrate Shabbos.

Upholding the holiness of Shabbos applies to beaches as well. Therefore those traveling to the Dead Sea are asked to select beaches closed on Shabbos, the Vaadas HaRabbonim announced.

Beaches on the Dead Sea that are open on Shabbos include Mineral Beach, Neve Midbar Beach, Kalya Beach and Chamei Ein Gedi, which advertises in secular newspapers that the beach is open seven days a week.

Both the International Beach and Neve Zohar Beach (at the Nirvana Hotel) are closed on Shabbos.

A partial list of places open on Shabbos includes the Meimadion Water Park, the Weissgal Water Park in Rechovot, Luna Gal, Nachshonit, the Ramat Gan Safari, the National Park in Ramat Gan, Ganei Yehoshua, Chai Keif and Superland in Rishon Letzion, Keif Tzuba, Beit Chalomotai, Sacheik Otah in Emek Chefer, Etgarim at Park Lachish in Ashdod, Luna Park Tel Aviv and Batzel Hatel Yavniel.
