Led by roshei yeshivos and rabbonim Jerusalemites took part
in the levaya of Rav Dovid Rub, an outstanding
avreich who was plucked away at the age of 35
following a difficult illness.
The deceased was born on Tu BeShevat 5729 (1969) to R' Yaakov
and Esther Rub, known in Bnei Brak for their many acts of
chessed. He was educated at Talmud Torah R' Akiva
Merkaz in Bnei Brak. When he became bar mitzvah he went to
study at Yeshivas Itri Letzei'irim and later went on to
Yeshivas Ateres Yisroel.
After starting a home with his wife, ylct"a, the
daughter of HaRav Avrohom Yitzchok Tucker author of
Bikkurei Oretz, he continued rising in Torah and
yir'oh with total dedication to avodas Hashem,
foregoing worldly pleasures.
Even during the past year after his illness was diagnosed he
continued his Torah studies, hiding the illness from those
around him to avoid worrying and troubling them. Never was a
complaint heard from his lips throughout the period of his
illness. Instead he continued along his path of Torah and
avodoh, accepting yissurim with love and giving
all of his family members strength through his great
bitochon in Hashem.
His soul departed on Thursday night, 20 Tammuz, surrounded by
an ample minyan of talmidei chachomim from
among his friends and relatives reciting Shema Yisroel.
The first of the maspidim was his father-in-law, HaRav
Tucker, followed by HaRav Noach Heisler, the moro
d'asro of Sanhedria Murchevet, where the deceased lived.
Eulogies were also given by his uncle, HaRav Nachman Tucker,
one of the roshei yeshiva at Yeshivas Chevron, HaRav Reuven
Kornreich, rov of Tel Tzion, HaRav Dovid Cohen, rosh yeshiva
of Yeshivas Chevron, HaRav Chaim Walkin, menahel
ruchani at Yeshivas Ateres Yisroel, HaRav Tzvi Tzvieli,
rov of Beis Medrash Tze'irei Agudas Yisroel on Rechov Sokolov
in Bnei Brak, who knew the deceased since his childhood, and
HaRav Menachem Tucker, the deceased's brother-in-law.
After the burial at Har Hamenuchot Cemetery his rosh
kollel and the rov of Kehillas Shaarei Tevunoh in Ramot
Aleph, HaRav Yisroel Goelman, delivered parting words in the
name of the kollel members.
Rav Dovid Rub, z"l, is survived by his parents, his
wife and four young daughters ages two to seven.
