North Bnei Brak Development Plan to be Submitted
by A. Cohen
At a recent meeting, the city of Bnei Brak's Local Planning
and Construction Committee decided to submit Municipal
Construction Plan 572, one of the largest such plans in
decades, to the Regional Committee. The plan is slated to
span an extensive area: from Kiryat Hertzog and the Eim
Hamoshavot Road on the south to the Yarkon River on the
north, and from Geihah Road on the east to Mivtza Kodeish
Barnea Road on the west.
The plan includes a central commercial area for offices, high-
tech employment and even a helicopter landing-pad; an
industrial park, an industrial area, a mixed commercial area
for wholesale and retail commerce and display showrooms, and
an area for public facilities; and Yarkon Park, which will
include the river with a nature and landscape preserve.
The commerce and employment area has been allocated a space
covering 400 dunams (100 acres), with 105 dunams (26 acres)
for hotels and recreation facilities, 35 dunams (9 acres)
south of the Eim Hamoshavot Road for a special residential
area, 350 dunams (87 acres) including Rokeach Mizrach and the
railway reserve for an infrastructures corridor, a 330-dunam
(82-acre) greenbelt and 110 dunams (27 acres) for public
facilities.
