Hot and Healthy
By Dr. Reuven Bruner, Ph.D.
Hot spices have a lot of practical uses. They can clear your
sinuses and help you digest a big meal.
New research suggests that these pleasurably painful taste
enhancers may improve your overall health. A study showed
that foods containing salicylicacids have an anti-
inflammatory effect that can help reduce hardening of your
arteries as well as cut your risk for certain colon
cancers.
To add some heat to your meals and some elasticity to your
arteries, add the following to your pantry: curry powder, hot
paprika, Worcestershire sauce and thyme.
