Observations: A Spicy Diet

by B. Yitzhak

Anyone who gained too much weight and wants to burn off some unwanted fat should start consuming spicy food, says a new study conducted at a medical institute in Germany. Hot and spicy foods are the best way to return to one's previous weight.

According to the revolutionary studyš the only thing needed to begin the weight-loss process is to eat chili peppers before every second helping and to let them do the job.

A once familiar scenario: vacationers forget themselves a bit during the five generous meals served daily in Israeli hotels, quickly adding excess pounds to their normal weight. They return from the vacation tired but happy, but then they soon face the unflattering consequences of their irregular eating during the vacation.

According to the report published by the institute, the problem, as well as the solution, are well known: Hot spices quickly increase body temperature and cause sweating, which increases energy output. Coffee has a similar effect, and therefore the experts at the institute recommend drinking strong coffee with breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Overnight diets are not recommended following weight gain over vacations. Instead, dieters should start the day with fruit or vegetable juice, and eat 500 grams of those same fruits or vegetables during the course of the day. This, promises the weight-loss institute, is the only way to get rid of the excess weight from the vacation before the next vacation begins . . . and to begin the next weight-loss cycle on the right foot.
