End Of Year Siyum At Yesoiday Hatorah School, Manchester
by Yated Ne'eman Staff
As a culmination of the school year, a siyum was held
in the school hall last Tuesday night. It was attended by the
junior boys and some 250 parents and grandparents. All the
junior classes completed perokim: classes 3 and 4 of
mishnayos and classes 5 and 6 of gemora.
The guest speaker was Dayan Berger. In his inspiring speech,
he spoke about the importance of children's kind deeds and
that of making a kiddush Hashem. He also expressed his
delight at the beautiful ruach in the school, as well
as the truly excellent standard of the top class, who earlier
in the day had been farhered on a whole perek
of gemora.
The menahel Rabbi Yodaiken thanked the guest speaker and
parents for coming and then went on to tell the boys of the
importance of their learning; a siyum is, as such, a major
event. Rabbi Yodaiken also thanked the rebbes and teachers
for all their dedication. He pointed to the achdus
amongst the staff as the key reason for the success of
the mosad.
The top class finished the perek of gemora Eilu
Metzi'os under the expert guidance of their rebbe, Rabbi
Lobenstein. He addressed those leaving and presented the
class with prizes. Many of the boys learned many dapim
and six learned the whole perek by heart.
