Egged has started a new bus line to the Kosel Ma'arovi
every motzei Shabbos. The buses will serve the
Jerusalem neighborhoods of Ramat Shlomo (Shuafat) and
Ramot.
The new line will begin its run at 8 on motzei Shabbos
to the Kosel. The bus leaving Ramat Shlomo is called
bus number Aleph-1, and follows the regular route until
Shmuel Hanovi Street, where it continues to the Kosel.
Bus Aleph-2 will leave Ramot and follow the route of the
number 16 bus within Ramot until it exits from Ramot. From
there it proceeds directly to the Kosel.
Mr. Yossi Tsatskes, director of Egged's Jerusalem region,
said that due to the tremendous traffic load in the
Kosel area, these new bus lines will be only one-way:
to the Kosel. Riders will have to return using the regular
lines. During the initial trial period, Egged will carefully
monitor how many passengers use the new bus lines.
Activists in Ramot and Ramat Shlomo are very pleased with
these new lines and thanked Egged for responding to
neighborhood residents' requests.
