A memorial gathering of Sanzer Chassidim was held in Kiryat
Sanz in Netanya on Wednesday night, the eve of the tenth of
Tammuz. Headed by the current Admor of Sanz, the gathering
was graced by admorim and gedolei Yisroel. It
commemorated the sixth yahrtzeit of the previous Admor
of Sanz, author of Shefa Chaim and Divrei
Yotziv.
The gathering, which was attended by thousands of people from
all over the country, was held in the main study hall of the
mesivta of Kiryat Sanz. The highlight of the event was
the Admor's address, conveying words of aggada and
pilpul.
Throughout the evening, honorary titles and awards for
excellence were given to scores of outstanding students of
the Sanz Yeshiva and participants in the Worldwide Mifal
HaShas. This project had been instituted by the Admor
zt"l who, in his last will and testament, asked that
such awards be given each year on his yahrtzeit. Among
the award recipients were students who were tested on
memorization of 1300 to 1500 pages of gemora with
Tosafos. More than ten students who were tested on
1000 pages of gemora received the title of
Morenu. A select number of the most outstanding
students of the Sanz kollelim received certificates of
honor.
