With Egged to Vosikin at the Kosel

by Betzalel Kahn

Bus service to the Kosel with Egged buses #1 and #2 will now begin at 4:45 A.M., to enable people to reach the Kosel for the early summer vosikin minyan. Egged has taken this step as part of its policy of facilitating transportation for Jews who seek to pour out their hearts to Hashem at the Kosel.

Until now, the busses began running at 5 A.M. This service was greatly appreciated by the many people who daven at the Kosel at that early morning hour, but Egged received many requests that service begin even earlier. The company responded, and since Sunday the 13th of Tammuz, busses #1 and #2 have been leaving their regular departure points at 4:45 A.M.

Arik Feldman, Chairman of Egged, said that the company carries over half a million passengers a year to the Kosel, and regards this as a great and special zechus. According to Feldman, Egged will continue to offer expeditious responses to public requests as it aims to provide efficient service.

Bus #1 goes to the Kosel from Binyanei Ha'uma via Geula and Mea Shearim. Bus #2 leaves Har Nof and goes through the city's northern chareidi neighborhoods, and then down Shmuel Hanovi and Shivtei Yisroel Streets.
