With the appointment last September of new governors to the
Bnos Yisroel Schools in Manchester many significant changes
have taken place in the High School.
The governors co-ordinated by Mr. Moshe Brunner and Mr. Dovid
Adler appointed Rabbi Meir Roberg, former Headmaster of the
Hasmoean Grammar School in London, to stand in as consultant
principal until a permanent principal would be appointed.
He has led the school very successful and paved the way for
the appointment of Rabbi Refoel Spitzer, who will take up his
position as principal at the beginning of the summer term.
Rabbi Spitzer has for the last nine years been learning in
Shaari Torah Kollel where at the same time he developed the
Halocha Seder of the Yeshiva to a very high standard
giving various shiurim to bochurim at all
levels.
Previous to that he learnt five years in Gateshead Yeshiva
followed by a further five years in Yeshivas Mir,
Jerusalem.
Rabbi Spitzer has spent the last few months in London to gain
experience in the position he is now undertaking. He has
been teaching in High Schools in North and North West London
and has also been introduced to the complexities of
administration on the educational scene.
The school will continue to benefit from the wonderful work
of Mrs. F. Brunner in the areas of teacher training and the
counseling of pupils whenever the need arises.
The devoted staff have enabled the school to accomplish,
during the current school year, very high standards of work
in all subjects.
The Primary School will continue to be directed under the
capable leadership of Rabbi Y. Lehmann.
