A melave malka in honor of the Jerusalem Award
Ceremony for Torah Literature for 5759 was held on the 8th of
Teves in the auditorium of the Jerusalem City Council. This
traditional event took place in the presence of gedolei
Torah and public figures as well as hundreds of the
city's residents, among them relatives of the award's
recipients, students, and Torah supporters.
The Jerusalem Award for Torah Literature is the most
prestigious prize in this field. Among the recipients of
these awards are rabbonim and venerable Torah disseminators,
who are not only honored by the receipt of the award, but
their acceptance enhances the award itself.
This event was attended by roshei yeshiva, rabbonim,
ramim, Chassidic admorim, rabbinical judges, Torah
educators, and many of the city's prominent public figures.
Speeches were delivered by gedolei haTorah. The
musical part of the evening was conducted by cantor Reb Chaim
Eliezer Harshtick and his son Srulik, as well as by Amit
Listwind, all of whom delighted the audience with
zemiros for motzei Shabbos.
