Last week, HaRav Yosef Tzvi Dunner, the ravad of the
Hisachdus Hachareidim of England and one of the great leaders
of Europe's chareidi community, visited the new chareidi city
of Elad-Mazor, a community just east of Petach Tikvah.
While in Elad-Mazor HaRav Dunner, who was accompanied by his
son, Rav Eliezer Dunner, a member of the BaDaTz of Shearis
Yisroel, and the city's moro de'asra, HaRav Shlomo
Zalman Grossman, visited the local mikveh. HaRav
Dunner praised the special hiddurim and halachic
stringency exercised by the mikveh's builders
He was also very impressed by the attention and emphasis
accorded to every detail in both the planning and the
implementation of the mikveh, which was accomplished
under the strict and constant supervision of a committee of
the city's rabbonim. He then examined the city's eruv,
and was very pleased with its strict conformance to
halocho.
HaRav Dunner noted that the initiators of the city have a
great merit, in that they have made it much easier for
parents to purchase apartments for their children in the
center of the country. He related that some of his
grandchildren from England, and a significant number of
chareidim from abroad, have purchased apartments in Elad-
Mazor. He also visited the Yotzei Ponevezh kollel,
which is located in the city's Kiryat Chofetz Chaim, and
where scores of avreichim study.
At the end of his visit HaRav Dunner blessed Elad-Mazor -- a
city built with the brochos of maranan
verabonon, in order to solve the housing problems of the
chareidi community -- with success. He closed by saying that
this had been a very gratifying excursion.
