Yeshivas Tifrach
It was primarily residents of the northern cities from the Haifa area and northwards who constantly absorbed the barrage of rockets. But this did not skip over the residents of central Israel when, from time to time, Hizbullah terrorists aimed missiles towards the center which, Providentially, did not cause much damage.
As reported in the weekend Yated, by this past Friday, many reservations for Shabbos were made for Moshav Meiron and neighboring settlements in contrast to the lack of visitors during the past year for fear of aerial attack.
It is important to note, however, that even during the previous seasons and the dangerous times, the mighty sound of Torah reverberated nonstop in yeshivos throughout the country. And despite the fact that Carmiel was under direct fire, Yeshivas Rina continued its regimen full force. Similarly so in Yeshivas Nachalas HaLeviim in Haifa, the yeshiva in Afula and in Kfar Chassidim.
The same can be said for the south. Yeshivas Tifrach returned to its normal session already last year on Parshas Bereishis. Yeshivas Sechar Sochir in Netivot which was forced to wander at the beginning of the war due to direct danger, returned to its 'tent' after Chanukah Indeed, the sound of Torah did not cease at all and national security can be credited to the fact that Torah protects and saves.
The old-timers in our midst are able to recall days of war in previous periods and assure that then, too, Torah study was intensified all the more, surely as our power front. Thus with Yeshivas Mir which once stood on the very border with Jordan, and the gunfire which bombarded them constantly, saw no respite in study for even a day, and the regular routine of shiurim and study was maintained throughout.
