As of December 19 (18 Kislev) only 22.1 millimeters of rain had
fallen in the Jerusalem area during the current season
(August 1 to date). This is 17% of the average
rainfall for this period and 4% of the average rainfall for
the entire season in the Jerusalem area which is 522 mm.
So far it has been very dry this year.
The main rain months are December, January and February, but there is
still rain in March.
The current level of the Kinneret is -211.4 meters below
sea level, which is 2.6 meters below the full red line of -208.8 meters. It fell
this week when it usually rises.
Relatively little water is taken out as the bulk of Israel's drinking water comes from desalination.
