We are dealing with prosecutors who hasten to imprison suspects of leaking various secret information and deals with them like the lowest of criminals (A Rosenfeld) and then just stands aside when one of the most destructive and dangerous cases of leaking top secret data of the government in the past year comes to light.
We are referring to the leakage in the detention camp of the Nachba murderers of Sdeh Teiman, when the clip released to the media purported to show local soldiers cruelly molesting one of the Nachba murderers. The army itself placed the blame on the soldiers for the harsh action and the military advocacy sent masked Matzach interrogators to arrest the army reserve soldiers in the camp, after the terrorist himself complained about the violent treatment to which he had supposedly been subjected.
However, slowly after several accusations of the worst kind, after the world was exposed to a clip that claimed to show IDF soldiers acting like the lowest of criminals, the terrible truth came to light.
The clip shown to the media was a sloppy forgery of several films clipped together from different events. The terrorist who complained was one of the most brutal murderers who had not intended to complain at all due to the simple fact that it had never occurred. That terrorist had not even been held in that camp Sdeh Teiman at all when the clip had been photographed.
Yes, that is the pure truth. The whole complaint was a pure fabrication. It seems that army police investigators periodically call up internees who have already been released back to Gaza and seek to cull testimonies of brutal treatment they were subjected to — or not — for sake of creating case material of war crimes against soldiers.
Furthermore, in the publicized clip, there is no show of violence, only warders encircling a terrorist, showing their backs to the camera, as part of the orders to Israeli soldiers not to turn their backs to a Nachba prisoner for security reasons.
The entire story about abusive treatment is a fabrication on the part of investigating police, identical to the clip which was faked and released to the public.
So who cooked up this libel? The military prosecutor — which is responsible for the false release to the public. This is the very body which is supposed to investigate the leakage. Or simply put: the accused has to investigate himself!
And this is not some marginal event but a most severe occurrence which made world headlines and became part of the accusation against Israel of perpetrating war crimes. Anti-Semites throughout the world jumped upon the story, which was aired on the Israeli media with unbridled glee, in order to fuel accusations against the IDF and minimize the horrendous crimes of the Gaza murderers.
The American government decided to make its own investigation regarding what was going on in Sdeh Teiman camp, and the terrorists interred there are threatening the soldiers guarding them to file complaints against them.
This is the selfsame prosecutor who blamed the interrogating soldier with the murder of the Nachba terrorist on that disastrous day of the Oct. 7 massacre on the southern settlements, until it was clarified that the selfsame soldier could not possibly have interrogated him since he didn't know any Arabic!
There is no logical explanation to these actions of the army prosecutor, and the excuse for its actions that they will protect Israel from the International Criminal Court was totally invalidated when the court in the Hague issued a call for the imprisonment of Netanyahu and Galant, and courts throughout the world will persecute Israeli soldiers coming to visit.
So what is the rhyme and reason behind the madness? How is it that the State military prosecutor did not make a priority of clearing the blood libel woven by itself against the State of Israel? Why is the Israeli media not mobilizing itself en masse in demand to expose the truth in this affair?
Is it the fact that it is not connected to Binyamin Netanyahu which is transforming the subject itself into a marginal matter that requires no inquiry?
Everyone Will Have to Stay in Israel
If we have been dealing with the persecution of soldiers, there is a considerable list of countries where our soldiers are warned not to visit for fear that they might be arrested by the local authorities. There is a Palestinian body that keeps track of soldiers who at some point released clips during their military service in order to accuse them of war crimes. So, in addition to the Prime Minister and Security Minister who are prevented from visiting many countries throughout the world, many former soldiers must also think twice before going abroad.
Perhaps you recall that according to the government judicial advisor and her cohorts, among the personal sanctions which she imposed upon Torah students who do not do their military duty, that they will not be allowed to travel abroad. We do not do analysis of 'measure for measure,' but maybe, just maybe, there is some connection between the two!
