As of January 16 (16 Teves) 90.0 millimeters of rain had
fallen in the Jerusalem area during the current season
(August 1 to date). This is 40% of the average
rainfall for this period and 18% of the average rainfall for
the entire season in the Jerusalem area which is 522 mm.
There was not much rain in the past week. A few parts are caught up to
the average, but Jerusalem and most of the country is still behind.
The main rain months are December, January and February, but there is
still rain in March.
The current level of the Kinneret is still -211.28 meters below
sea level, which is 2.48 meters below the full red line of -208.8 meters. It stayed the same this week.
Relatively little water is taken out as the bulk of Israel's drinking water comes from desalination.
