When we are talking about an Arab judge, Khaled Kabub, one whose judicial rulings follow Palestinian policy, such as his ongoing and consistent objection to the demolition of the homes of terrorists with blood on their hands, when even our security people repeatedly claim that this is a unquestionable deterrent, then he can chalk up an almost absolute immunity.
Kabub's daughter runs an office of lawyers; above the entrance hangs a huge poster of her father so that everyone who enters it knows that the apple does not fall far from the tree. According to judicial ethics, a judge is not permitted to use his position to promote any personal interest.
At first, Kabub senior stated that he was not involved with the interior design of his daughter's office. But when he was forced to react to the Commissioner in charge of complaints from judges, he changed his tune and maintained that he did not know that his picture would be publicized, and that he asked his daughter to remove the picture. He also stated that he did not intend to participate in the imminent opening ceremony of the office, in the same manner that he did attend other such events in the past.
In light of the reaction, the commissioner withdrew the complaint against him, but actually, the judge did indeed attend the opening ceremony of the office, despite his declaration not to do so. He even went so far as to be photographed together with his daughter and senior Israeli judges, with the very backdrop of said poster.
In answer to the reactions, he told the press that he really had no intention of deceiving the commissioner but the whole matter simply slipped his mind at the time.
Interestingly, this was not the first time that Kabub's memory failed him. In fact, he also participated in the inauguration of his son's office. Upon that event, he was photographed next to the high ranking official of the Northern Branch of the Islamic movement, which was declared as being outside the law.
The Kabub family exploits the father in order to promote the law practices of each member.
As previously stated, if it were a kipa-wearing judge, rightist, and perhaps also a mitnachel-settler, who did all this, the journalists from the Left would have had a field day. But when we are talking about an extreme Leftist and an Arab, he enjoys absolute protection.
Veteran columnist, Nachum Barnea, wrote: "Raising the very topic of Judge Kabub's forced resignation only goes to prove how mad are these chaotic times. This subject is only one example of chicanery, conniving, idiotic and money grubbing threatening to darken our lives here.
It all begins with a rightist organization called Lavi, a recognized organization whose declared goal is the protection of citizens' rights and is for organized administration and encouragement of settlement? according to its conspiracy. This organization decided to attack the first Moslem judge to serve in the High Court. Why precisely him? Because he is an Arab? Or a Moslem? Perhaps because his impeachment can make way for some other judge in the High Court from the camp of Rothman-Levine?
Did you get that? If there is a Moslem Arab judge, he can trample judicial ethics, have himself photographed with a top figure of a terrorist organization and lie to the Commissioner of Complaints. And for general information, the article against Kabub was not publicized in the rightist media but in the national press. But who cares about facts when it does tally side by side with another clear-cut agenda?
