OPINION
It is Always Netanyahu's Fault

by Yitzchok Roth

The Hamas captors murdered the six hostages a full day before the army reached the tunnel which held them. A despicable killing in cold blood under orders from above that were issued to prevent the Israelis from freeing them alive. An army report reveals that the murderers saw the progress of the army and killed the hostages in order to prevent the IDF from freeing them alive. When they saw them approaching the tunnel, the Hamas captors were ordered to kill them so that the Israelis would not find them alive.

The Israeli information could have shaken up the whole world by presenting the horrific facts to every possible media forum that Hamas is like the Islamic State, like the Nazis, as an organization of ugly murderers which should be dissociated from human society and pursued to the absolute finish.

And what actually happened? The venomous Israeli system came out in an incisive attack against the government.

Yair Lapid announced that "the death cabinet decided not to save the hostages." Benny Gantz declared that "there is someone who did not do everything to prevent this death." Ron Chuldai said that "the Israeli government abandoned the hostages." These and other similar reactions pointed an accusing finger at Netanyahu.

Netanyahu is guilty of the murder; he is the only blameworthy one for this murder. No one said a word about the Nazis from Gaza. No one dealt with the brutality of those subhumans whose only interest is to destroy the State of Israel and kill off all of its residents, as is clearly written, black on white, in the doctrine of Hamas. Netanyahu is to blame for the murder — he and none other.

Masses went out to the streets to paralyze the country with rabid protests. The Histadrut chairman declared a national strike which was halted by the court. And thus did Sinwar learn, from the depths of the tunnel in which he was hiding, how to undermine the government.

The method of achieving his supreme goal is through more such murders of the hostages. If he seeks to exert pressure on the government and its head, he must continue the killings whereby he will succeed a total submission which will include a complete Israeli retreat from the Gaza Strip, the return of people to their homes, restoration of Gaza, and surely, a fresh buildup of Hamas strength through a renewed stream of weaponry from Egypt.

We have written, and continue to do so, that we do not possess the tools to decide what must be done. Human lives hang in the balance, whether the government decides to submit to Hamas dictates or refuses to agree to their demands.

But when all the Leftist factions point their accusing figure at the Israeli government alone, referring to it as a government of traitors and declare that its hands are sullied with blood, why should the 'civilized' world be 'more Zionist than the Zionists'? If the Israeli media says that Netanyahu is the only one to blame, why should world leaders point an accusing finger at the Gaza murderers as well?

The Heart of Kings and Princes...

The U.S. elections are fast upon us. If we had thought for a moment that the Democratic candidate would defeat Trump without fail, it seems that it is not so simple. If at first, when Biden announced his withdrawal from the fight, Harris was a sure winner according to the surveys, but as the days go by, the initial enthusiasm is waning.

Now the competition is very close with even an edge for Trump. The first public debate passed this week. Harris made a good showing, so her chances are good.

Either way, the Democratic Party is outspokenly anti-Israel, and if Harris wins, we will pine for Obama.

We need exceeding Heavenly mercy, and much concentration on the words of our prayers which Jews have uttered throughout the generations regarding the governments in power: May the King of kings in His mercy imbue the hearts of the government and of all its advisors and ministers with the mercy to favor our nation and all of Jewry. May Yehuda and Yisroel, in our times, be saved and rest secure, and may the Redeemer come to Zion."
