As of March 30 (8 Nisan) 481.0 millimeters of rain had
fallen in the Jerusalem area during the current season
(August 1 to date). This is 98% of the average
rainfall for this period and 92% of the average rainfall for
the entire season in the Jerusalem area which is 522 mm.
Most of the country has not made up the defecit in rain, but the situation
is not dire.
The main rain months are December, January and February, but there is
still rain in March which is drawing to a close.
The current level of the Kinneret is -210.06 meters below
sea level, which is 1.26 meters below the full red line of -208.8 meters. It rose 3 cm this
past week, but it is not likely to fill up this year.
Relatively little water is taken out as the bulk of Israel's drinking water comes from desalination.
