Public transportation from Beit Shemesh, Ashdod and up north is undergoing improvement.
Beginning May 28th, two new direct intercity lines, #885 from Ashdod and 887 from Beit Shemesh will go to Tsefat via Afula and Meron. In addition, in less than a month, beginning from the 22nd of Sivan, more buses will be added by the Tnufa company on the Beit Shemesh-Jerusalem route.
This coming week, the new lines will break off from the regular 985 and 987 lines which traveled via Afula and Meron until now and will only pass through Chatzor, while the new lines traveling via Afula and Meron will not stop at Chatzor. This split of the two new intercity routes will considerably shorten and improve the travel time for passengers.
The revolution in public transportation which is being promoted by the Transportation Ministry and the Road Safety Organization will enable travelers on the new lines from Ashdod and Beit Shemesh to enjoy a speedy, direct and convenient mode of travel.
The improvements are encouraged by Rabbi Uri Maklev of Degel HaTorah.
