As of February 2 (11 Shvat) 235.3 millimeters of rain had
fallen in the Jerusalem area during the current season
(August 1 to date). It was a rainy week and the are predicting more. This is 68% of the average
rainfall for this period and 41% of the average rainfall for
the entire season in the Jerusalem area which is 522 mm.
In most of the country the rainfall is below average
rainfall for the period, but it rained all over. The main rain months are December, January and February, but there is
still rain in March.
The current level of the Kinneret is -210.47 meters below
sea level, which is 1.73 meters below the full red line of -208.8 meters. It rose 6 cm this
past week.
Relatively little water is taken out as the bulk of Israel's drinking water comes from desalination.
