Rain and Kinneret Watch

by Dei'ah Vedibur Staff

Our weekly report of the rain and the level of the Kineret - 5781.

As of March 4 (20 Adar) 385 millimeters of rain have fallen in the Jerusalem area during the current season (August 1 to date). This represents 87% of the average rainfall for this period and 72% of the average rainfall for the entire season in the Jerusalem area which is 537 mm.

In most of the country the rainfall is about average rainfall for the period. The main rain months are December, January and February.

The current level of the Kinneret, updated as of March 4, is -209.28 meters below sea level, which only 0.48 meters below the full red line of -208.8 meters. It rose in the last week. It is more than 3 meters above the lower red line. No announcement has been made about opening the Degania Dam. Relatively little water is taken out as the bulk of Israel's drinking water comes from desalination. Keep davening.
