23 Tons of Terror Chocolate
Security Minister Benny Ganz signed an administrative directive this past Monday to confiscate 23 tons of chocolate snacks from the Gaza Strip which are thought to serve to fund the Hamas terror organization there.
The Security Ministry said that it is believed that Hamas uses this food for a broad arrangement to pay for terrorist activities by selling such products and also staples to Gaza residents. All profits go to pay for military activity. In the wake of the confiscation, security forces have intensified control over importers who work together with families known for their terrorist affiliations. Such activities have been decreed as illegal and will be followed with heavy sanctions.
The merchandise and the deception behind it was discovered as part of coordinated activities by the Army Intelligence branch, the National Department for Economic Warfare against Terrorism, which is part of the Security Department and the National Center for Diagnosis under the Tax Authority, which suddenly noticed the suspicious increase of food products.
Minister Ganz said, "Israel shall continue to work in order to prevent the strengthening of Hamas which is defined as a military force, instead of being concerned with the sordid economic situation in which the Gaza population finds itself. Israel will employ all means and methods in fighting the organization, including unconventional methods used by Hamas. We will seek out all terrorist monies in every way possible that they think up and forestall them."
