Our weekly report of the rain and the level of the Kineret -
5780.
As of December 19 (21 Kislev) 83 millimeters of rain had
fallen in the Jerusalem area during the current season
(August 1 to date). No rain this past week. This represents 62% of the average
rainfall for this period and 15% of the average rainfall for
the entire season in the Jerusalem area which is 537 mm.
In most of the country the rainfall is below average
rainfall for the period. The main rain months are December, January and February, so it is mostly ahead of us.
The current level of the Kinneret is -211.825 meters below
sea level, which is ABOVE the lower red line of -213 meters.
It fell a little bit over the past week. Relatively little water is taken out as the bulk of Israel's drinking water comes from desalination. Keep davening.
