In light of the recent assault on the holiness of Shabbos, many organizations are stressing Shabbos in their outreach activities. Two of them are Arachim and Hidabroot.

Arachim recently held a special seminar about Shabbos. Many of the participants were inspired to begin keeping Shabbos. HaRav Gershon Edelstein and HaRav Chaim Kanievsky wrote the participants a special letter.

They wrote: "It is a great zchus to gather to strengthen the holy Shabbos and to hear divrei Torah on Shabbos and thereby to become sanctified with the kedusha of Shabbos. The Kabbalists say that the reward for Torah and mitzvos on Shabbos is a thousand times the reward during the rest of the week. Everyone can achieve a lot on Shabbos by using the time for Torah and good deeds, each on his level.

"All those who sanctify the Shabbos are blessed with the power of Shabbos which is the source of all blessings."

Hidabroot said that it will deploy thousands of volunteers throughout Israel to make a special effort to spread the word about Shabbos. "Shabbos ambassadors" will make a special effort to reach thousands of alienated Jews.

"In just a week we have seen over a thousand Jews who are not considered to be mitzvah observant agree to become Shabbos ambassadors," said Rabbi Dovid Tufik, the director of Hidabroot. "The warm Jewish heart will influence thousands from all communities that Shabbos is a great gift that we must not discard, Choliloh."
