Our weekly report of the rain and the level of the Kineret -
5780.
As of December 26 (28 Kislev) 85 millimeters of rain had
fallen in the Jerusalem area during the current season
(August 1 to date). Just a little rain this past week but now it is raining hard. This represents 54% of the average
rainfall for this period and 16% of the average rainfall for
the entire season in the Jerusalem area which is 537 mm. Next week we should do better, be"H.
In most of the country the rainfall is below average
rainfall for the period. The main rain months are December, January and February, so it is mostly ahead of us.
The current level of the Kinneret is -211.765 meters below
sea level, which is ABOVE the lower red line of -213 meters.
It rose a little bit over the past week. Relatively little water is taken out as the bulk of Israel's drinking water comes from desalination. Keep davening.
