Intensive spiritual excitement and heightened activity was felt this past Tuesday in Yerushalayim during the visit of Sar HaTorah HaRav Chaim Kanievsky to various yeshivos as a chizuk tour.

This visit was the response to the request of various roshei yeshivos and Torah disseminators who sought to begin the winter session on an elevated tone through the uplifting messages of HaRav Kanievsky and the hosting roshei yeshiva.

HaRav Kanievsky visited Yeshivas Knesses Yisroel - Chevron which also celebrated the cornerstone laying for a new building at the current yeshiva in Givat Mordechai at 7 p.m. Speaking were the roshei yeshiva HaRav Farbstein and HaRav Dovid Cohen, as well as HaRav Y. Chevroni.

His next stop was Yeshivas Nesivos Chochmah, where he participated in a chizuk rally to promote heightened diligence in Torah study, especially on Motzei Shabbos evenings. This rally was enhanced by strong messages from the Rosh Yeshiva HaRav Wolfson and HaRav Neuwirth addressing the students, calling upon them to intensify their study in general and on motzei Shabbos in particular through student cohesiveness in their learning.

His son delivered a message from his father: "Try to cover a lot of ground and not to stop too long." He also urged the bochurim to not waste time: "All of the gedolei Yisroel grew and succeeded by using effectively the weaker times."
