Dirshu Announces Shas Siyumim

by Yechiel Sever

3

Huge numbers of Torah scholars throughout the Jewish world are preparing for the big day soon approaching: the thirteenth Daf Yomi Siyum HaShas and the commencement of the new round of the Daf Hayomi study. The administration of the world Dirshu organization has announced a series of spectacular events to commemorate the Siyum in honor of the Torah to be held in locations throughout the Torah world which will commence right after the upcoming Yomim Tovim. The openly declared purpose, which has been Dirshu's objective all along, is to aggrandize Torah and enhance it worldwide.

For the myriads of Torah students involved, the day of the Siyum HaShas, the culmination of a long study period, is a flag day in their lives. The very title of "Shas Yidden" which they have rightfully earned is a revered milestone, in any case, but by Dirshu, which has emblazoned upon its banner the thorough knowledge of that term through constant review and success in passing the periodic tests, this is not sufficient. Dirshu constantly aspires to gather in more and more Jews to the ranks of Torah study achievement.

Dirshu Siyumim are planned for Jerusalem (30 Kislev-December 28), Tel Aviv (12 Teves-January 9), Oxford, England (World Gathering, 13-16 Teves-January 10-13), USA (14 Shvat-February 9), as well as London, Manchester, Paris, South Africa and South America.
