130 Percent of Annual Rainfall

The Meteorological Authority has released the information that, following five years of drought, the amount of rainfall measured from September through March registered 131% of the average annual rainfall overall.

During this period, 130% of the annual average precipitation was measured in the Kinneret, while in the Galil, as much as 136% was registered, in the Yarkon, 133% and in the coastal basin 127% was recorded. Thanks to the plentiful rainfall of this past month, the Kinneret rose by 89 cm. and now stands at 211.96 meters which is 1.04 above the lower red line.

The Dead Sea level rose three centimeters in March, as compared to a fall of 6 centimeters last year. From the beginning of this hydrological year, the Dead Sea level dropped by 37 centimeters.
